BEHIND THE COMPARISON

A clearer choice starts
with clear sources.

App versus helps you explore software visually and compare the details that affect everyday use. Weather is our first collection.

What we compare

We compare each app’s presentation, advertised features, platform coverage, and pricing model. Our collection includes daily forecast apps, map-focused tools, and visual timelines to represent different needs. Selection and ordering are editorial judgments, not measured performance scores.

Where the information comes from

App details and screenshots come from official Apple App Store listings. Every app profile links to its source. Listings were checked September 5, 2026. Screenshots belong to the respective app publishers and show their advertised interfaces; they may contain promotional text or reflect a different version or subscription.

Reading the feature matrix

The comparison uses a compact selection of the core forecasts, weather data, alerts, and device criteria in the GraySky weather-app matrix. Each confirmed cell links to publisher evidence. Supported can include paid or region-limited features; Paid identifies an explicit plan requirement. Not offered requires evidence of absence. Not confirmed means the sources do not establish the feature, rather than that the app lacks it. A rain forecast does not by itself establish rain-start or rain-end push alerts.

What we haven’t tested

We have not performed hands-on app testing, accessibility audits, battery benchmarks, privacy verification, or independent forecast-accuracy studies. We do not treat a publisher’s accuracy claims as comparative proof. Feature availability can vary by device, operating system, country, data source, and plan.

Pricing and platforms

We show a broad pricing model rather than a fixed price because subscriptions, offers, currencies, and billing periods change. Consult the current listing before purchasing. Screenshots and feature information are sourced from iOS; an Android app with the same name may have a different feature set.

Independence

This edition includes no paid placements, affiliate links, invented star ratings, or user reviews. “Consider it for” labels describe a useful reason to explore an app. They are not awards or claims that an app outperforms every alternative.
